Venue: Valencia street circuit, Spain
Circuit length: 5.440 km
Laps: 57
Race start: 2000 HRS SIN
The European Grand Prix returns to Spain after a 10-year spell at the Nuerburgring, at the first new track since the 2005 Turkish Grand Prix. Thus it is an unknown quantity. Downforce settings estimated through simulations are expected to be similar to Melbourne and Hockenheim. However it is wider than Monaco and like Singapore, it features a water crossing. Hot weather is predicted for the weekend.
Before the summer break, Kimi Raikkonen narrowed the gap to championship leader Lewis Hamilton to 5 points. Felipe Massa is another 3 points adrift. A minute of silence is expected to be observed before the start of today's opening practice session. Be sure though to get familiar with the track tomorrow during qualifying and also on StarSports Raceday on Sunday!

Lightning struck twice for the Ferrari team, once each during the pitstops and in the engine department. Provisionally though, Massa has the hat trick of pole, win and fastest lap...now we wait for the outcome of the investigation into his pitstop.
Ironically enough, Ferrari have lights instead of a lollipop man to stop these things from happening.

i don't think Massa will get penalised, but the team will get penalised, fine or something. FIA quite kind to Ferrari.
At least Massa let Sutil pass through 1st and not force his way...
