When Singaporean males finish their compulsory 24 month (or 22 month if they achieve a good result in a NAPFA fitness test before enlistment), they will transit into the second phase of national service, as Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen), i.e. reservist. -

when i ORD, i was immediately given a reservist unit, with mob and ICT already planned for
but when i entered SIM, all was cancelled and i was transferred to reserve holding list immediately
as opposed to my friends, who dont have a reservist unit, but suay suay got a reservist unit halfway through their uni and have to go back sometimes for ICT and what not -
