Mosquitoes

I kena some time back just before my last tenant moved out ... more than 10 bites each night ... got bitten for 1 month ... a lot of scaring cause its very itchy, painful and a lot of infection that left me with so many bumps for more than 3 months... I hate mozzies.
I did the weapons of mass destruction on them. I wage war on 2 fronts. Burn the Bayer Incense cause they hate the smell. And for 2 weeks, every day before I go for work, I sprayed the house with ridsect, Baygone and etc (change so that they don't built up resistance). Used us more then 5 cans for that 2 weeks. Then I shut all the windows and doors ... trap them! Killed many of the buggers. Then, over the weekends, I would go to the windless corners of the house, dark corners, under furnitures, plants and such.. give them a shake to see if these mozzies are hiding there....
Its because there was water in the public toilet and the mozzies were laying eggs and reproducing very fast... After I know that, I put detergent into the water ... so that they cannot lay the eggs and whatever is inside is also killed. So I get very careful when there is water ...
My area got dengue outbreak and was fumed like > 5 times last dec
I think some one around my area died from dengue... -
wa... so deadly ar.... where u live.... i rarely get mosquito bite my flesh too hard liao... too old eat liao the mosquito die

my face got 7 bites........ i'm disfigured..
on my arms... its bleeding...
i dun dare to wear anything that is not long sleeved... cos i look so ugly 
stupid mossies... must be uncle mos.... -
use the mortein liquid diffuser loh abt 7 bucks if i never remember wrongly, the refills 4 bucks plus, can last u abt 2 mths. got another kind is gel type (baygon) but the machine more expensive abt 13 bucks and each gel pack lasts 1.5 mths. the active ingredient in the gel type is the same as the coils (transfluthrin) but the mortein one is esbiothrin. so if u dun like the smell of the coils u shouldn't get the baygon gel cos the active ingredient is the same.

when i first enter my new unit, the bloody place is buzzing with mossies at night..not pititful two or three, but a swarm..
u cover leg, they bit torso, u cover body and hands, they bite hands...
second day i look like i had chicken pox.....
and took them so long to tak actions, got few peeps got dengue and they now start to fog the place.... -

But i think i solve the mosquitoes' problem by putting up a mosquitoes net.
Bought it from Ikea.
Now i sleep very well every nights... -

How come they can breed in such a dry and hot weather...
I hate to go hippo's house...becos his room got many mozzies... last nite.. my leg was bitten 10 on each leg... my beautiful legs are gone ....

buy mortein liq, ever since rise in dengue i on the device nightly....dun wanna take the risk cos exams coming soon wor...

Here's a tip that was given at a recent gardening forum.
Put some water in a white dinner plate and add a couple drops of Lemon Fresh (Joy) dish detergent. Set the dish on your porch, patio, picnic table, park bench, or other outdoor area. Not sure what attracts them, the lemon smell, the white plate colour, or what, BUT mosquitoes flock to it, and drop dead shortly after drinking the Lemon Fresh (Joy)/water mixture, and usually within about 10 feet of the plate.

It works just super! It may seem trivial, but it may also help to control mosquitoes around your home, (especially in areas where the West Nile virus is reaching epidemic proportions in mosquitoes, birds, and humans). Pass this on to anyone who likes sitting out in the evening, or when they're having a cook out.
My view is that the soap in the water will break water tension and thus the mozzie will fall into the water and then cannot get out... the detergent is also strong ah, so the mozzie will die loh. I did put some bleach in the other toilet I don't use... in any stagnant pools of water... after that all the mozzie infestation die out... -
