Let's say you do get married and have children, and they have children of their own. Looking back at the events in your life and the events in history which took place then, what would you say to them?

Back then...
(Politics)
...people could travel anywhere they wanted without getting molested by immigration officers.
...civil servants wasted newspaper space with their non-replies to public queries.
...our descent was called 'race' and it was listed on our ICs.
...people worked five-and-a-half day weeks.
(Society)
...there were also many attrocious S'porean drivers.
...COEs could cost $50.
...we could not buy chewing gum here for a while and were ribbed for it constantly by foreigners.
...we had pretty pictures of ships on our notes and they were replaced by the face of a man from a time to forget.
...we took 4/5 exams a year and even project work and speech were examinable.
...people celebrated when you got 11 A's but nobody wanted you even if you're a fantastic footballer if you had rubbish results.
...we could get a good meal for 2 or 3 dollars.
(Sports)
...F1 engines produced 900bhp.
...I watched Michael Schumacher win his 7 (currently) world championships, and the dogfights between him and Häkkinen/Montoya/Räikkönen/Villeneuve.
...goalkeepers could receive backpasses (until the mid-Nineties) and players could take off their jerseys to celebrate.
...I watched Ronaldo, Schmeichel, Zidane, Shearer ply their trade.
...many of us didn't watch the S-League.
...Leeds United were a great team, and then they collapsed.
...some of the world's best bowlers were S'porean. -

but to list what happened during our time, challenger crashed in 1986, columbia in 2003, the twin tower came down in Sept 11 2001, berlin wall came down in 1989, singapore goes into recession 1985 and 1999, millenium celebrations in 2000, sars 2003, lewinsky gives good blowjob 1999, dessert storm 1990, iraqi freedom 2003, afghanistan women threw away their burka 2002, entered sgforums 2003, ord loh! 2003.... -

When I was in Primary 2, multiple-choice questions were still hand-marked. At that time too, my school was still a single-session school. Windows 3.1 had only just appeared, and viruses were found in the air and in the soil, not in virtual reality.

would find ur grandmother, played football every fri at a basketball court and
get into trouble with the poilce cuz the bball players call the police(but later compromise wif the bballers that fri...the bball court is not a bball court but a soccer court)...
exams are the only time to study and aim to get to next semester witout failing a module....
dream almost everyday bout owning my own dream car..
was a very active little boy...track, football, table tennis, badminton, golf, tennis...u name it, i prob tried it b4
