You can never go wrong with cash. If they're treating a meal, any money collected will help pay for the food expense.
Since your budget is reasonably substantial, you could apportion something like $60 cash / store vouchers, $40 gift (photo frame, etc). It's difficult to buy something for the couple if they don't have a house yet. I'm a practical person lah... hard to get something for the both of them when they're not living together. I prefer store vouchers, really handy!
OK since you're into nature, how about a plant like a cute cactus or those no-soil plants?
Or a nice photo album (those luxe, paper ones) or photo frame so they can store photos from their engagement celebration.

Roll-up cert holders are damaging to paper. Now the certs come with a cardboard frame. A Cert frame for display, uuh is not something I'd use
It depends where and what type of photo frames and albums you buy, there are expensive ones.

In a basket, put in:
nice toiletries like bubble bath, scented oil
scented candles
His and hers bath robes or slippers
Cd of romantic music / love songs
Book with love quotes
Chocolates
Champagne
Funny , cute or kinky couple toy (depends how open the couple is
)
Couple-ly items, like his and hers mugs, pillows, champagne flutes, etc.
Fun, cute stuff like love-themed stationery for them to write love notes

During my turn, I received several photo frames despite the fact that I didn't inform many friends. One crystal photo frame was even delivered all the way from London....but now they're all sitting in the cupboard.
Re the suggestion on plants, don't think it's a good idea to give catus...too thorny, and it's not a good plant to keep in Feng Shui too. -
