I understand people can be stressed when not having a job.... umm... we both know that because we have a mutual friend who is out of job for more than a year.... (thank God he has just started working 2 days ago!)
However, that behaviour is not helping him at all to get a job. If he expects Singaporean company to favour his application because he's singaporean, isn't that some kind of discrimination too???

Well, but some Australians do have the ‘white supremacy’ mentality
But it doesn’t help that most Asians have the ‘white is better’ mentality too
It really takes 2 hands to clap
Just like a certain race in Australia who are always pulling out the race card but they are always acting like assholes

Haha.... aiya... these race race things... i mean its everywhere.... and I guess all races to a certain extent have their own fair share or racist people.
But I like the attitude some people have..."lets at least try and be civil about it and do the right thing".
Lol ... but must also be tolerant. Especially if you at the receiving end.
Kind Regards
Genie

Totally with you..... I don't deny some Australians can be racist (may be a small percentage) and these people give the whole Australia a bad name!
Actually he should do some self-reflection on why potential employers don’t want him.
Well MPB said some of his Muslim friends got pelted by eggs at the bus stop in Melbourne from a passing car.
Anyway, he said that so far, ‘touch wood’ he has yet to experience any discrimination.
The funny thing is that some Australians think he is African American????

Yar the indian/muslim community now have some problems with a portion of the aussie community.... the problem actually started wif troublemakers from both sides.... problem is as these keep happening even the usually non-racist neutral people also start to take sides lol

There are "immature" people on earth to think certain people from particular religious group are terrorists!
Like Genie said, discrimination happens everywhere.....
I don’t know how they see MPB as African American because I don’t think he looks like one.
I mean I think it’s pretty obvious he is Asian. Even my Canadian colleague can guess his heritage mix correctly.
Hmm meybe MPB suntan too much and hair too short? LOL kidding...nvr met the man b4 so i cant comment.
But in general westerners or ozzies..... they cant differentiate asian.... that's why they just lump it up and call us that.
Like for example some asian from china and one from vietnam another from korea.... to them its asian LOL.
Just like to me they are basically white... whether they from USA, european or african white....ozzie ... whatever.... I can't tell the difference... to me I call them caucasian haha.
Haha his hair is very short indeed and his hairstyle is similar to what those African American men like but he can pull it off.
Well, sometimes you can tell from looks if they have very distinct features but usually I can more or less tell when they open their mouth.
The accent tells a lot.

back from walking about after swimming...
bought a backpack from NB outlet for $29 to replace the crumpler messenger bag i have.. nothing wrong with the bag, lots wrong with the user... user's back is screwed and the asymmetric messenger bag is causing a lot of stress on one side of the back.. which is why i opted for the backpack...
not too bad.. $29...
there was a $19 one but it had only one giant compartment with one zip.. i need at least a couple to put away my security pass, wallet, keys and other stuff.. there's even space for my notebook should i want to bring it around

I know what you mean abt the crumpler. I tighten my strap all the way for much better load distribution.
tomorrow is going to be a good day
INDEED

FS has been wanting to buy a Crumpler messenger bag for me for the longest time..... but I resisted all this while.
My logic was......
Messenger bag: all load on one shoulder ==> excess load and pressure on one shoulder ==> back becomes asymmetrical ==> long-term back problems.
Backpack: load spread across both shoulders ==> can handle heavy loads more easily ==> back remains balanced ==> fewer problems.
In the first place, I don't understand what's so good about Crumpler. The material they use reminds me of Kaimara primary schoolbags.
oh yeah.. Daiso has put out Christmas decorations for sale already!
hmmm.. seems that Google was buying drones to "map the terrain for a better Google Maps"
or maybe... Google is.. Skynet!!!

Well at least it's cheaper than the Agnes B and Longchamp bags
I mean they use the same plasticky cloth-like material for their bags and it cost an arm and a leg

Actually I've had good experiences with crumplers and find that they are extremely durable even though they don't look it. I have 2, the newest one being 3 years old, that I've used and abused, they both still look brand new after a quite wipedown with a damp cloth!
and its important to tighten the strap on the crumplers to avoid stress on the back.
