  You have a sister overseas right? Guess she would have to get it for u.

  One 'cons' though - you can't buy direct from amazon cos they detect where your wifi is from - but if u are mostly a manybooks.net reader or something (like me, too cheap to pay) - then it doesn't matter :)

  I'm waiting for them to change their minds.

  Actually doesn't need to get the kindle - i'm all for all e-ink ereaders :P as most people should know from my relentless koyok.

  BUT for an ereader with built in wifi - I think so far the kindle is the cheapest.

  so now I'm thinking, ipad with kindle app installed as an alternative?

  plus the ipad can be serviced locally and has a color screen meaning I can also read my HD color pdf magazines!!

  but the size of the ipad vis-a-vis kindle is a major turnoff for me
