F1 Success, So Singapore Aims for Tour de France Next

The Formula One Singapore Grand Prix is such a success that Singapore is now aiming to bring in the Tour de France.
“We
have proven that we can host world class sporting events,” said
Minister of Tourism Mr. Lai Chia Hong. “So we want to do more.”
“But Singapore’s exposure to the Wall Street meltdown means we won’t
have so much money,” said Minister of Tourism Lai Chia Hong. “So maybe
instead of all these petrol-guzzling fast cars, we can go for fast
bicycles.”
According to Mr. Lai, the Tour de France is a very possible target, notwithstanding that Singapore is not anywhere near France.
“Imagine the peloton racing up Bukit Timah, or across Xiao Gui Lin in Bukit Batok,” said the Minister. “Can, what.”
He added that Singapore’s terrain has some advantages that France
lacks, “like less dogshit all over the place, and people with less body
odour.”
In the meantime, Singapore will be using the F1 experience to develop
its own motor racing industry. “The traffic police inform me that we
have a lot of local speeding enthusiasts. So maybe we can help to
nurture our Initial D ah bengs and their zhng’d up hatchbacks into
becomin tomorrow’s Alonsos or Massas.”
The Minister said that perhaps F1 standards are too high for our local bengs. “But maybe for them, F9 can.”
M&M Lee Is Melamine-Free: Gahmen

The Gahmen wants to reassure all Singaporeans that M&M Lee is free from melamine.
This
announcement comes after China-made M&Ms were pulled off
supermarket shelves in Hong Kong and Indonesia, following findings by
inspectors of high melamine levels.
“Don’t panic,” said Agri-food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) spokesman Mr. Kah Bee Cheng. “At his advanced age, our own M&M does contain many artificial preservatives, but we are pleased to say that melamine is not one of them.”
When asked to list the artificial preservatives, Mr. Kah mentioned the following:
Artificial democracy
Artificial free market
Artificial free press
Artificial meritocracy
Local consumers were not at all surprised that our own M&M had
artificial ingredients, but said it was okay, because "we Singaporeans
swallow anything."

Hopefully people will learn never ever invest money that they cannot afford to lose. But somehow I don't think that'll happen. Doesn't help that a lot of elderly folks get conned by unscrupulous bank staff into investing instead of leaving their savings in fixed deposits. I've seen such people literally cornering elderly folks at the bank before.
hmm.. sometimes i wonder what the hell happened to the world?
everyone seems to try to profit by any means necessary... even if it means hardselling the vulnerable..

apparently pcb board of discarded commercial grade are found at Southern PRC on sale as military grade (i.e. more heat resistance as mentioned in e article) after some cleaning or sort
it's a real safety hazard

Why am I not suprised?
There are also lots of fake capacitors (not rated as claimed), semiconductor chips and other parts being churned out from PRC factories

Got this story on the chinese news last night of how a baby went for operation to clear kidney stones.
The parents had no inkling what was causing the stones and carried on with the milk.
Now the poor baby has been found to have multiple stones and will have to go for surgery again....
