The biggest mistake he made was invading Russia. He sent ten complete armies into Russia, which were all beaten back.
I've read another book on alternate history. One historian claims (with a great deal of justification) that Hitler should have simply given Rommel one Panzer army, invaded Malta, and concentrate on North Africa. Once the Suez Canal and Gibraltar were both captured, he could drive on to the Middle East.
Which is kinda sensible, when you think about it. The Afrika Korps was exactly what it sounded like: a corps. Although they were outnumbered, they came within 50km of Alexandria before being beaten back.
If Rommel had one complete Panzer Army..... yikes.

Hitler's big mistake was micromanaging the whole war and not letting his generals do their job.

sometimes I suspect if that's the case in our goverment ... everybody only wants to deliver the good news ... but nobody wants to tell it as it is on the ground ...
By the way.... do read Stalingrad before you read Berlin.
Berlin is the so-called sequel to Stalingrad, after all.

not really ....
hitler got too hung up with the symbolic importance of stalingrad .... instead of pressing on ....
he lost more than a million men down there ... and the german army never really recovered from that blow ...

When Hitler expected Paulus (6th Army commander) to commit suicide, he refused...
His reason? 'I'll never kill myself for that dumb Bohemian corporal'.
bottom line. TOO GREEDY
he should have stopped and history would change in a negative way
