I love these stuff ! ... that's one of my uni staples ..... try the glico curry mixes next time ... I prefer japanese curry to any other sort of curry now ....
throw in chunked beef, carrots, potatoes, onions, carrots and tomatoes and you have an awesome stew to go with rice ...

You can make a really delicious Oxtail Stew with Campbell Soup
Just throw in the Oxtail, Carrots, Potato and Onions and add in red wine and worcestershire sauce and the herbs you like to taste
And stir in a bit of cream or butter and it's really yummy
Yeah! Yeah!!!
They are my uni staples too~
I think they are really great for .. couple cooking.. simple easy la.. when u r tired of MSg food outside.. u can cook MSG food at home mah.
i also like stuff like.. ASSAM FISH SAUCE (can steam w fish) or .. (MAPO TOFU MIX) can mix with tofu..
for Japanese Curry i like to use the brand GOLDEN
err but once i ran out of 'staples' left... with... only .. mee suah.. and a can of cream of mushroom and a very tight deadline

Good Moooorning, Singapore!!
Coffee's brewing... and Hot Choc for the wise!
America's Presidential Elections news on CNN... really interesting to watch! Clinton just promised that if one is a fireman / nurse / doctor / teacher, every year that one serves is a year of education loan paid! Hope he has worked out the Maths before making such a promise!
*cough cough*
Still coughing pretty badly.
There's some colourless phlegm.... but otherwise the cough is more of a dry cough. My throat's feeling rather irritated. Nin Jiom only helps to soothe it for a while.
Sigh... looks like once again I'm gonna have to postpone my MacRitchie hike.
he? or she?
thing about the US education loans is that it will take about US$loadsamoney which will indebt the student for a heck of a long time before the person is free from that debt..
but then, in that time, the person becomes loaded with other debt...
it's the same for almost all the industrialised countries..
some countries try to steer their next generation away from it but the taxes for their countries are very high..
thing about debt is that it is a psychological killer as well as a financial killer..
that being said, the debt burden of each man, woman and child in the US is more than US$30,000..
the US National Debt is now about US$9.2 trillion.. and counting..

He. He is making huge promises on the podium. Probably trying to recover from the huge blow the Clintons suffered when the Kennedy's backed Obama yesterday.
Hillary should just do a "Vote for one, get one free" campaign, since her husband seems to be constantly in the thick of action as well!
And therein lies the beauty of Singapore. Compared to most other developed nations, Singaporeans enjoy a high standard of living with relatively low inflation rates, and education is so highly subsidised, it's astounding. A lot of other things like our healthcare system, public transport system, is world-class.
Sadly, Singaporeans in general, do not appreciate how good they have had it in life. I, for one, never appreciated it until I came over. Since then, I even have Aussies coming up to me asking why I even bothered to migrate to Australia because they think that Singapore is a brilliant country. Why, one Aussie even told me that Singapore's healthcare system is Gold Standard and she called Australia's "3rd world".

People are to blame for loading themselves with debt. If you've lived here before you'll see what I mean. It's just not in their culture to save. I don't mean to generalise but the majority of the people here spend like there's no tomorrow. To add to the problem, there are countless credit card solitications that come through the mail, offering more money the the already strapped. Many are desperate and bite. Aside from that, there are also payday loan places everywhere. Offering to lend money at very very high interest rates.
healthcare is world class?
to think you were in the thick of it...
i just got a text message a few weeks ago.. it was a scheduled follow-up look at my back injury by NUH...
the appointment was postponed so many times i forgot about it..
the appointment date was somewhen in June 2005..
i remember going to the A&E in NUH in Sep 2006.. A&E doctor screaming into the phone.. the orthopaedic specialist would not come see me.. the A&E doctor apologised to me...
thankfully, the "2nd tier" public hospitals like AH saw me... that was after a lot of shaking down the various contacts and getting a name and circumventing appointment lists.. that a person with a slipped disc could then go see a doctor.. something the A&E doctors termed "severe pain"..
i'd say some of the public hospitals are world-class.. some of our public hospitals are world-crass..
btw.. i'm looking into laser surgery of the spine.. supposedly they do the surgery as a day-surgery thing, and me as the patient will be able to walk away in the evening.. and if the doctors clear it, be well enough to go back to work the next day..

yeah.. there are those who refuse to save..
but there are those who are just hammered with debt so badly.. i wonder.. fresh out of college and there's this looming debt over your head already... just when the person is most vulnerable and in need of money.. striking out and stretching his wings..
i guess everywhere, there are looming things over our heads... just different types..
