Pretty good movie.
Only one gripe is that too many little kids in the cinema making a lot of noise, misbehaving and acting like smart alecks. For example:
Singapore being mentioned in the movie:
'Wah... Singapore being mentioned!!!!'
Kissing scene between Adrien Brody and Naomi Watts:
'Eeeeyerrr.... they kiss leh!!!!'
Skull Island's inhabitants appearing for the first time:
'Eeeeeyerrr..... so disgusting one!!!!'
The ship crew arming themselves with rifles:
'Wah.... real rifles leh!!!!!!'
All at shouting level. Sheesh man, what were their parents thinking, that King Kong == Donkey Kong?!?! If their kids can't be disciplined enough for a three-hour movie, then they should just stay at home!
Not the movie's fault I know.... but those kids totally spoiled my movie experience. They should consider introducing PG-13 or something.
Actually more than that, Sumatra was mentioned at least twice, and Yangoon (Myanmar) at least 2 times also.Originally posted by dragg:its because the king kong movie produced in 1976 says that king kong lives in singapore.
Huh? Where in the movie did they talk about Singapore being 'ancient'? Can you quote the exact phrase please?Originally posted by targa3:it was an insult whn they mentioned Singapore, they were really just trying to say Singapore is very ancient. Pirates of the Carribean Sea also made a similar reference to Singapore, saying it's ancient also.
In the era where the movies are being set... yes Singapore is ancient... Singapore was only this thriving maybe just 50 years ago.... so if the setting is in the early 1900s... i think it is right to say Singapore is still pretty ancient compare to the then US and Europe....Originally posted by targa3:it was an insult whn they mentioned Singapore, they were really just trying to say Singapore is very ancient.
