i'm already having 2 HDDs inside...still can support meh?Originally posted by littlebeaker:HDD is more cost effective. But get internal ones.
frankly speaking, i have no idea how many it can support...Originally posted by ditzy:If your motherboard can support, I say take another internal HDD, its a much better investment and data transfer would be alot faster.
saw a tdk dvd burner it's few hundred bucks?Originally posted by Parka:Eh....
I don't know about DVD speed
but 16X can get 4.5GB burnt in 5mins.
That's a lot faster than CDR.
Cost effective, yes
and space effective.
The price should be lower than that.Originally posted by bismarck:saw a tdk dvd burner it's few hundred bucks?

Higher speed DVD media are more expensive. Normally I don't buy the highest speed though my writer can write that fast.Originally posted by bismarck:got recommendations for dvd discs ? price and brand
16x or 8x speed...
true abt the speeds thing.Originally posted by Parka:Higher speed DVD media are more expensive. Normally I don't buy the highest speed though my writer can write that fast.
Why?
Simply because I don't really need to burn those disc THAT FAST.
Since it's 4.5GB per DVD, you will find that you usually wouldn't be using your DVDwriter that often.
16x one is alright.Originally posted by bismarck:true abt the speeds thing.
then can u or anyone recommend me on dvd burners ? sometimes i want it fast because i dun want to waste time waiting for it to burn...
actually i'm gonna use it once then that's itOriginally posted by Parka:16x one is alright.
As I've said, you'll not be using the DVDwriter that frequently so waiting for a longer time isn't really going to be that noticable.
I'm using Benq 1610.
Not bad.
Quality will depend also on the burning software you use. And the SonyBurn sucks.

i tried to read it...but couldnt make out waht it says.Originally posted by littlebeaker:Check your manual?
Some boards can support up to four internal drives
IMHO, its only 16GB, and since you ain't looking for permanent storage. Another HDD would defeat its purpose. Spending on an external dvd-drive, then selling it wouldn't be cost effective either. Might as well just get an external cdrw drive. 1cdr can hold 713MB with overburn finalisation, 2cdr can hold a little bit over 1.4GB, so you can roughly guess how many cdrs you're going to need to fit that 16GB. You're just going to need over 12cdrs to fit that 16GB.Originally posted by bismarck:oh gosh, sorry i didnt notice this post.
backing up mp3, movies, word, excel, photos, etc...16GB
hmm 16Gb = 16000MBOriginally posted by ditzy:From:
