any software that can plot graphs?

i need a software that can plot graphs (similar to excel) but can give me the gradient of the graph at any part of the graph i point to or select.
plus it must be able to give me the corresponding x and y value at any point of the graph i point to.
plus if i give a x value, it must give me the corresponding y value and vice versa.

MatLab Release 14. But thats cheemology, even for me. I still stick to excel.

first of all, i am given a set of values determine experimentally then from the peak, determine the max and min values. then from a given y value, give me the corresponding x value.
and also when i give x value for example, the software must be able to give me the gradient at that point -
not sure if there's such free software around.

Considering this situation you've given. The fastest way for me would be to plot it out on graph paper and find all the values. Serious. I know its stupid and old fashion and yada yada yada. At uni level, hand written work is still very much appreciated. No such thing called:"Computer can give nicer graphics lah.", all that excuse, phooey.

you can try to search for add-ons developed by other users for Excel that may complement and add this rather special function..
alternatively, you may want to see how you can you Excel Visual Basic to create a program within Excel that can help you extract the values that you may need. -

was thinking of giving out and using graph paper...graph paper..flexibility
