a value for the $$
consider it
msi one nt bad
ah bo u can get ATi 9500 cheap cheap also
huh?Originally posted by BaByBoY:u mean ur com budget is 1 k for the graphics card????
then u can get 3d labs OXYGEN le
i think he wants those not DIY types, not dell or something.Originally posted by DevilAngel77:ok.. mine is MSI MS-Starforce Geforce4 Ti 4200.. cost me abt $380 when i bought it abt last yr.. serve me quite well.. but i think it is too ex for u.. and i'm not sure if can play NFSU or not..
ur idea of ext HDD is those 2.5" laptop HDD encapsulated in a casing?
might be cheaper to buy a cheap external casing and the laptop HDD separately.. any requirement like sizes, colors etc?
prices and model r all available at http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg
new comp.. hmm... a simple one can definitely be under 1k..
now is depending on what kind of support ur lecturer desires..
if ur lecturer is not so IT suavy, then shld get from
1) those well known dealers like Dell etc..
2) shops that sell the whole PC..
pro of pre-assembled -> no compatibility issue. better warrenty n support.
con of pre-assembled -> more ex. cannot without HDD and/or monitor.
if ur lecturer is more IT suavy, then can consider assembling urself...
pro of self assembly -> can have ur own desired brand/model or all parts.
con of self assembly -> have to test on compatibility and warrenty may have to go back to supplier
they lecturere bery gd to u??Originally posted by bismarck:i think he wants those not DIY types, not dell or something.
his idea of a ext HDD are those portable HDD..
i was thinking of getting the guy who fixed my com to do it for him but...i got a feeling he fleeced me and will also fleece my lecturer.
so i was thinking, can someone come up a certain specs list, or i state the req for processor and ram etc, then u tell me the possible motherboard and other stuff to fill it in...
i think under 1k shld be enuf bah..
i got mine at ur price too..Originally posted by DevilAngel77:*sigh*.. need to remind me of the current price?
tt`s rather true..Originally posted by Parka:Just go to the shops at Sim lim and buy a pre-assembled set from them.
Some shops also offer 3 years warranty on hardware.
With a budget of $1000......I think can get a rather good system.
i think he's abit technologically challenged. keyword: think.Originally posted by BaByBoY:they lecturere bery gd to u??
i`m more than willing to help u..
but the lecturer`s stuff a bit mah fun ie lots of components to consider..
if its done for a total stranger it`s not goin to be worth our efforts..
unless there is a charge fees involved.. otherwise really not worth effort to help a stranger assemble a comp..Originally posted by BaByBoY:they lecturere bery gd to u??

so ur`e not the only one
++ tt`s not all
most of my com`s stuff dropped like hell..
seriously not worth the money anymore
waht does a 2.5" look like ?Originally posted by DevilAngel77:AMD? i'm not so sure abt AMD..
but if is a just :
P4 1.8GHz
256 DDR
average 32M graphics card
no HDD
no monitor/LCD
average motherboard
average PC casing
then prob abt 500 (or maybe less) can get liao..
as for the external HDD,
casing cost vary from $20-70
2.5" 40GB HDD cost abt $156
something similiar to tis:Originally posted by bismarck:waht does a 2.5" look like ?
anyway
for the com specs...give him a boost...raise the price to 750, can get ard 2.1Ghz, 512MB ram?
i wonder leh.. u so good to ur lecturer ah?Originally posted by bismarck:DA...then based on the specs i give u.
waht's the cost?
plus i need someone to assemble for me
depends on the price u willing to pay for the casing...Originally posted by bismarck:btw let's separate things a little.
20GB and 40Gb ext HDD costs how much? ( u know i am refering to those USB ones right?)
