How hot is your computer/laptop?

Overheated PCs
Wondering if all of us know how hot is the temperature inside a PC/Laptop.. and whether do we have enough means to dissipate heat for our PC/Laptop..
Maybe can take this chance to share your cooling techniques for PC/Laptops and how long you have used your PC/laptop before you find that it is getting too heated.
For me, i set up 2 extra fans inside my PC chasis to regulate the airflow.. so far even if i'm online for 24hrs, my PC chasis still fun feels to be overheated. -
so far my laptop hasn't melted or exploded.....
no intensive gaming or wat so no overheat prob...... -
i bought a notebook "fan platform" with 3 fans to regulate airflow under the notebook... USB powered.. and it elevates the notebook on 4 rubber knobs to increase the airflow under the notebook..
so far, intensive use, not melted yet although it gets really hot...
using a Sony P4-2.4GHz notebook... (not P4-M nor centrino) -
not hot, acer c110, runs on centrino, which is good. my comp is on 24 hrs, but the casing is open air, removed the sides and put an unused fan beside blowing, no prob.

think last nite used for 7 to 8 hrs and the thing keep hanging...
got problem accessing A drive also... hai... -
remove the casing of the tower, leave only the skeleton. take fan and blow. I used to do that. some graphics cards powerful ones can become super hot but they got built in fans.Originally posted by DevilAngel77:Overheated PCs

Maximum 48 degrees celsius P4 1.8M, critical at 60 degrees celsius. One external AC fan for cooling brings the temperature to a stable 28 degrees celsius. But will vary with the applications running due to hard disk and processor usage.

hummm.. hot enough to get it to shows me blue screen...
solution? moved to cold cold country and no more blue screen

ger... some laptops do not have good ventilation and result in the laptop getting heated up easily after prolong usage... if your laptop always feels hot after abt 2 hrs of usage, then i would advise you to get some fan to help cool down your laptop.. if not the lifespan of your laptop is at risk lor...Originally posted by coolger03:my laptop always gets very hot one...

Anyone can give me a rough guideline to buying a laptop for undergrad studies? Don't understand what is Pentium M or Centrino used for as well.

Basically, Pentium M, which means Pentium Mobile, is the CPU processor commonly used for laptops nowadays. Centrino is the technology that they are coming up with for the usage and functionality of the laptop. -
mine's quite hot.
for the first few weeks of getting my new pc, i let it run without any side panels but the tech guy advised me to use panels because dust may get in blah blah blah.. -
