Liverpool midfielder Lucas knows there is still work to do before the pressure is lifted despite the club finally getting their second Premier League win of the season against Blackburn Rovers last weekend.
Liverpool remain rooted in the relegation zone, but the table is so tight this season that one win could lift the club up to seventh in the table and they are only six points behind Tottenham Hotspur, who occupy the Europa League spot in sixth.
Ahead of Sunday's visit to Bolton, Lucas accepted that there is a lot of hard work to be done to turn the season around.
He told the club's official website: "We were under a lot of pressure before Blackburn and to be honest we still are because we are not in a comfortable position in the table, but we believe in ourselves.
"We'll go into the next game with a lot more confidence and hopefully we can win a few games in a row. The Premier League is so competitive. You can't name one game that's easy. I think it's the most competitive league in the world.
"Players who aren't here don't realise how physical it is. They only realise when they come here. It's a very difficult league to play in, but we have to go to Bolton and try to play the same way we did at Anfield and for sure if we do that we'll have a big chance of winning.
"We are six points behind the top four [sic] and that shows how competitive the league is, so if we can get two or three wins in a row we'll be up there."
