Prolific striker Oscar Cardozo is linked by Paraguayan press with a move from Benfica to Roy Hodgson's Liverpool.
Paraguayan goal machine Oscar Cardozo could make a big-money transfer window move to England, after reports that Liverpool coach Roy Hodgson is willing to break the bank to partner Fernando Torres with 'Tacuara'.
Ultima Hora reports that the struggling English outfit are watching the Benfica striker closely, and could be prepared to pay up to €25 million to bring the 27-year-old in. Cardozo is remembered at the club for scoring three goals in a Europa League quarter-final tie between the two clubs, which Liverpool eventually won 4-3 on aggregate.
The lanky forward has shone since arriving in Lisbon from Newell's Old Boys three years ago, and has scored 81 goals in 135 games for the Aguias. Season 2009-10 saw the Paraguayan international in electric form, as he scooped both the Portuguese League and Europa League top scorer accolades to drive Benfica first place in the Liga.
