Liverpool confirm they have agreed fee with Barcelona for Javier Mascherano

Javier Mascherano, Liverpool (Getty Images)Liverpool have today revealed that they have agreed terms with Barcelona for a deal that could take Javier Mascherano to Catalonia.
The Argentine midfielder has been the subject of intense speculation in recent months about his future, with Inter as well as Barca linked with a move.
His reported refusal to play for the Reds against Manchester City on Monday evening has led to criticism from many quarters and reportedly annoyed several team-mates.
But it looks as though the way has now been cleared for the midfielder to leave Anfield.
"Liverpool Football Club have agreed terms for the transfer of Javier Mascherano to FC Barcelona," the statment on the Reds' official website reads.
"The Spanish club have now been given permission to speak to the Argentina midfielder." -
imho liverpool should get want away ben arfa and ade at cheap with the money generated from masch.

mascherano's departure, surely will in one way or another affect LFC, he's one of the best defensive midfielder imo.
lucas, however, on the other hand, is an insult to the LFC shirt and to the midfielder position.
It's almost impossible to find a direct alike replacement for mascherano, he's one of it's kind/own. the way he defend, start to launch counter-attacks etc.
we have to understand mascherano's stand in the whole saga, im on his side for this. he just can't adapt to england's weather/environment, who to blame then? he already wanted to leave a year ago, but played on another year after rafael pleaded with him. that's cool.
i won't go further to blame him for putting himself above the club, look, this world is that realistic, it's all about the survivor of the fittest.
mascherano made 94 appearances for the kop, i havent't seen any that he's not giving his everything, for every game i watch mascherano, i see a 'monster', a footballing monster that will chase down every single ball, with that never-say-die attitude.
mascherano will be deeply missed, if not by the club, then me.
