Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson could be set to raid his old club, after confirming his interest in Fulham defender Paul Konchesky.
With the new home-grown rules coming into effect in the Premier League this season, Hodgson has been keen to add more British talent to his squad this summer, and admitted Konchesky was one of the players he was looking at to strengthen his defence.
"We had discussions with Fulham about whether they were prepared to sell any of their players and I would be lying if I said Paul was not a name we considered," said Hodgson ahead of Liverpool's Europa League play-off second leg tie against Trabzonspor.
"Whether or not there is a chance of business is still very much up in the air."
With new Fulham boss Mark Hughes keen to keep hold of Konchesky, it could take a fee of around £3.5 million to secure the services of the 29-year-old.
However, with Liverpool searching for a new left-back, the former Charlton Athletic man has reportedly told Hughes that he wants the opportunity to speak to the Merseyside club about a potential switch.
