[Official] Poulsen joins the Reds

Liverpool FC are delighted to confirm the signing of Christian Poulsen after the midfielder put pen to paper on a three-year deal.
The 30-year-old, who has been capped 77 times by Denmark, arrives from Italian giants Juventus and will wear the No.28 shirt.
Poulsen has previously worked with Roy Hodgson at FC Copenhagen, where he was given his first big break by the current Reds boss.

Christian Poulsen, Juventus (Getty Images)Juventus' official website has today announced the switch of experienced 30-year-old Danish international Christian Poulsen to Liverpool for almost €5.5 million.
The fee will be paybale in two installments, the intial fee of €2.725m upon him signing a contract with the Premier League club, and the second on July 1, 2011 for €2.75m. Both installments have already been guaranteed by the bank, ensuring Juventus will be able to spend the money.
A further clause will be dependant on the achievements of Poulsen while under contract, with a potential €1.2m more to be pocketed by the Italians. As yet the length of the contract has not been disclosed.
Poulsen was allowed time off from Denmark's international friendly game in Copenhagen, where they came back to draw 2-2 with Germany, to help push through the deal and clearly it has been successful. After passing a medical yesterday the midfielder could be included in the squad for Liverpool's opening Premier League fixture against title rivals Arsenal.
The defensive midfielder joined the Bianconeri in 2008 for a fee just under €10m on a three-year deal from Sevilla, but has failed to win over many of the fans during his time in Turin.
New boss Roy Hodgson will be delighted he has secured his target, as specualtion over current defensive midfielder Javier Mascherano's move has been hitting the headlines all summer. Poulsen will add bite to the midfield, as a player who is renowned for his aggressive style.
Poulsen has also represented Schalke and FC Copenhagen in his career, earning over 70 caps for his country. -
