Report: Hodgson Keen To Bring Crouch Back To Pool

Liverpool are believed to be in talks with fellow Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur over the possibility of re-signing Peter Crouch, according to The News of the World.
Roy Hodgson is hoping the Merseyside club can sign the 29-year-old for less than the £9 million Spurs manager Harry Redknapp paid Portsmouth a year ago.
However it seems that negotiations have stalled between the two clubs as Redknapp believes Crouch has increased in value over the year.
Liverpool initally sold Crouch to Portsmouth two years ago for £8m, but it is believed that Hodgson is a keen admirer of the tall striker after trying to sign him while at Fulham.
The Anfield boss is desperate for reinforcements and Crouch could be seen as the ideal target man for Fernando Torres.
However Redknapp may still be reluctant to sell after Tottenham reached the Champions League. -

to have peter back at the club would be great, but that's not the main thing to do now. what i think is to get a left legged winger, ryan to play alongside with fernando up front. david can jolly well go hang around with the reserves or join west brom, whatever he prefers i dont care. and of course, we desperately need $_$

i will never trust david too. i rather he plays pacheco up front. but since theres a new striker so its ok. crouch shouldn't be sold in the first place, yea i agree he can take part in set pieces which liverpool are so woeful in..

that pacheco lad is really damn good for a kid! i like him alot as a striker. i hope to see him and fernando upfront one day.
we have ryan, i think rafael played him too much on the left side. he's a striker! i would love see him back upfront.
david and lucas should nvr had been bought, watching them wear the kop shirt is such a turn off. they're doing nothing but insulting the shirt. worse still, lucas was given the armband -.- OMG.
players like lucas shouldnt even be given the chance to touch that armband, moreover to wear it! wtf!

Hodgson serious about Liverpool return for Spurs striker Crouch
Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is serious about bringing Tottenham striker Peter Crouch back to Anfield.
The Mail on Sunday says Hodgson has made solving Liverpool’s striker shortage his priority and is ready to test Harry Redknapp’s resolve to keep Crouch at Tottenham with a £10million offer.
Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, who played with Crouch at Anfield, have sung his praises to their new manager and Hodgson believes the 6ft 7in England international would be able to either play alongside Fernando Torres or step in whenever the Spaniard is injured or needs a rest.
Despite Liverpool’s financial problems with the club currently up for sale, Hodgson will be given money for a new striker if Javier Mascherano rejoins Benitez, now in charge at Inter Milan, in a £20m deal or signs for Barcelona.
He is keen to continue bolstering the English contingent in his squad, having already signed Joe Cole from Chelsea on a Bosman.
Intriguingly, Crouch may be tempted by the opportunity to complete unfinished business at Anfield despite the lure of Champions League football at Spurs.
