Liverpool's owners refuse to be rushed into selling the club.
The Daily Star says Reds chairman Martin Broughton won’t be rushed into repeating the takeover mistakes of the past.
There are believed to be up to six rival bids for the club.
But insiders insist Broughton – who was brought in to oversee the sale – will take his time to avoid the kind of oversight that allowed hated owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks to take power in 2007.
A source said: “No one wants a situation where, in two years’ time, we are throwing ourselves under a bus because the wrong option was taken.”
