Desert dream: The UAE will offer Benitez a bumper deal
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is being offered £5million to quit Anfield and manage the United Arab Emirates.
The UAE want to capitalise on Benitez’s uncertain future in England by making him an offer they hope he cannot refuse.
The Gulf oil state hope to raise their profile worldwide by appointing Benitez, just as they did 33 years ago when they lured then England manager Don Revie.
Benitez would be given a £5m ‘Golden Hello’ and a salary to match his £4m-a-year contract at Liverpool. A free mansion on Dubai’s exclusive Palm Island would also be thrown in.
The offer may be seriously considered by Benitez, whose relationship with the board and players at Anfield is at an all-time low after a fourth successive season without a trophy and failure to qualify for the Champions League.
Strange enough, the managers that are in demand are Jose and Ah Ben.
I can understand about Jose as he have made history for Inter this morning.
As for Ah Ben, the press is just having a field day writing about his NEXT move.
