According to reports coming out of England and Italy, Inter are said to be in pole position to capture the signature of Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard should he be forced to leave Anfield.
TMW reports that the Reds have a debt close to £400 million, and some of the money could be recuperated by selling the England international to the Nerazzurri.
Current Inter coach Jose Mournho once called the 29-year-old the 'forbidden fruit', after trying to lure the midfielder to Cheslea while he was in charge of the Blues.
Gerrard has a contract with Liverpool until June 2013. A figure over €25 million is what the Liverpool management would take seriously, with anything under that being considered a "waste of time".
