Liverpool are preparing an offer for Hamburg winger Eljero Elia.
The Holland international only moved to Hamburg last summer from Steve McClaren's FC Twente.
Dutch sources say Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez wants to bring Elia to Anfield and believes an offer of £9 million will be enough to clinch a deal.
For his part, Elia is keen on a move away after struggling to settle in Germany.
