Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez says he's going nowhere.
Ahead of their clash at Lyon, a Champions League exit would cost Liverpool upwards of £15million and leave their season facing ruin.
There would be more calls for Benitez's head but the Spaniard cut a defiant figure, saying: : "I am really pleased to be here and I want to be here for a long time.
"And when you walk through a storm you hold your head up high and we will try to hold our heads up high tomorrow."
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
Walk on walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
For the genuine fans ......
Indeed!
Sg Pools already forsee a thrashing by liverpool against birmingham by offering low low odds of a thrashing! Will it happen? Stay tuned..
yea
you're walking through a storm created by you, and it'll last till the day you leave.
I dont think birmingham wil get thrashed. At most liverpool will win by 3-0 nia. Seriously, arsenal also have problems getting more than 3 goals against them. Therefore, liverpool would not have an easy time if they wants to thrash birmingham 5 or 6-0.
Furthermore, birmingham has some good players in the Jerome guy and Sebestian Larsson. Also their players are quite hard tackling. They took out Eduardo's ankle few seasons ago. And just a few weeks back, they sent Theo Walcott back to the treatment room.
Liverpool should beware, if they were to field torres, these hard tacklings could further injured him. Same for Gerrard as well.
Anyway, tonight Carragher would be missing. Maybe liverpool's defence will be stronger and better with Skrtel and Agger (provided both fit).
Seriously i hope liverpool can find their form, and then make the battle for 4th spot more exciting. Challengers for fourth spot includes villa, spurs, city. Sunderland and everton are the dark horses. Therefore almost 6 teams capable of fighting for the spot. It would be exciting to watch.
What happens in the Champions League is virtually out of their hands.... they must win both their matches and hope that Lyon will beat Fiorentina.
If Liverpool were to just draw one match, or Lyon were to draw theirs, they're already kaput.
As for the Premier League, I don't see them getting hammered by Birmingham, but then again, knowing Liverpool, they play like superstars against big teams but they gabra like zebra against smaller teams.
I see no other reason why they can hammer Man Utd so well but can play like crap against both Sunderland and Fulham. As such I don't see Birmingham beating them, but I can forsee Birmingham making them sweat and suffer for a win.
so hw's the status of gerrard, torres, aquilani, aurelio, johnson? are they still crocked?
heard tt the 2 yankees are trying to undermine RB's position again by revealing tt they might replace RB with Martin O'neil..y those 2 jokers dunno that they r the root of the problem?
