Fernando Torres Wants David Villa At Liverpool

  David Villa would be playing his football at Anfield next season if his Spain team-mate had anything to do with it...

  Torres has stated that if it were down to him then Liverpool's one major signing of the summer would be to take David Villa to Merseyside from Valencia.
  
  The Reds' striker would enjoy teaming up with his international strike-partner on a weekly basis in England and has told Rafa Benitez that he should see what could happen.
  
  With clubs such as Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea believed to be mooting €50 million bids though, Torres recognises that Liverpool joining the chase may not be feasible.
  
  "Rafa Benitez makes the signings and I'm sure those who come will improve us," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
  
  "If it was me I would bring David Villa. But that may not be possible.
  
  "We play well together and link up so well. It's a pleasure to play with him.
  
  "I don't know if we are the best partnership in the world but we are European champions and that is almost the same."

  With Villa in the side, Liverpool would gain more points and therefore be likely champions of the Premier League.
  
  Therefore why don't Liverpool offer Valencia £40m in instalments over four years? Surely that amount is affordable to Liverpool, given they've bid £17m for Pompey's Glen Johnson

  valencia is like spain arsenal, i hope they wont sell their soul by letting go their star player to 'spain manure'.

  Too bad , we don't want to spent £40 millions on him . £20 million pounds maybe we can squeeze .

  Decision still his .... even if Valencia agreed the £40million pounds from MU , not necessary he will join MU .

  Villa , with so many compatriots in England ... especially in the national team , Reina , Arbeloa , Viera and Torres , plus Fabregas ....... would surely recommend Villa which club is good for him , i believe the choice is obvious .

  The only english team he'll play for is Liverpool, but that won't happen. He'll go to Real most likely. He definitely won't go to Utd - he won't understand old whisky nose, whereas at Liverpool Spanish is probably the first language at this stage. That counts for a lot - there's not one player he could talk to at Man Utd.
