FIFA president Sepp Blatter has launched another attack on the Premier League by criticising chief executive Richard Scudamore and his obsession with finding more revenue streams for the richest league in the world.
Blatter has long been against the domination the English league now enjoys and the infamous 39th game fiasco was not well received at world football's headquarters.
Any hopes of the bad feeling being banished appear to be slim with a private meeting between Blatter and Scudamore only reinforcing the belief that the Premier League is only interested in financial gain and not the good of the game.
Scudamore also told Blatter of the Premier League's strong opposition to the proposed 6+5 rule, which is designed to create a more level playing field both in domestic and international club football.
Blatter told Bloomberg: "He is working to make a lot of money and I'm working to have football as a social, cultural event around the world, being a school of life, bringing hope, bringing emotions.
"That's the difference.
"He said that with the exception of (David) Beckham all England national team players play in the English league so therefore still his league is playing English football.
"As long as you have in different teams only one or two English players, I think this is not enough.''
The Premier League refused to comment on Blatter's remarks, but Football Association chairman Lord Triesman said Scudamore was was only doing his job.
Triesman said: "I'm not running that business in the same way that President Blatter isn't running that business.
"The chief executive of that business has of course got to look after their interests.''
Blatter and Platini has got their point too .... that's my point of view .
Yes watching Premier League going to be expensive 5 years down the road .... All thanks to this Scudamore and his TV broadcast rights ....
Premier League sometimes makes the game boring , getting bored with English teams eliting Europe .
