With Robbie Keane now departed for Tottenham and Liverpool left with only Fernando Torres and David Ngog as recognised strikers in the squad, reports have suggested that Rafa Benitez may be keen to bring back Andriy Voronin from his loan to Hertha Berlin.
The Ukranian international left Anfield last summer on a season long loan to the German club.
This weekend Voronin, who it is believed still receives the majority of his wages from Liverpool, scored twice to help Hertha to a heroic 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich. The victory puts Hertha top of the Bundesliga.
As previously reported on This Is Anfield, Benitez last week hinted that he has been impressed by Voronin’s form for the Germans this season.
He said, “I was talking with his agent and the relationship is good. He is playing very well, they say that he is a hero there so we will analyse the situation but later on.
