  correct me if i interpret it wrongly.

  coming 2009, soccer fans will have to pay starhub to watch BPL games and pay SingTel to watch Championship league.

  if this is the case, we are so farked..

  this is a conspiracy man. the gahmen must have stepped in to prevent singtel's mio tv from dying.. and in the same time making us pay more just to watch the game that we love so much..

  i don't see how starhub could let singtel win the rights, some forces must have been behind it.. farked up..

  Singtel, a subsidary company of temasek holdings.

  Starhub, part of it belongs to temasek holdings under the name STT Communications and mediacorp.

  I think they just want to kick espn sports out of any soccer coverage and make the money themselves.

  But, seeing how they have screwed the BPL match broadcast.

  They have proceeded to screw another soccer entertainment for the people.

  These people are plain shameless and greedy.

  i don't think by having the right to broadcast UCL exclusively will enhance their sales of Mio TV .

  if u want me to subscribe Mio TV juz for the sake of watching UCL , with 2 decoders at home , and paying 2 subscriptions  for 2 different telcos , i dun think i want to part with my money .

  i can alwasy go into www800.spbo.com and see the live streaming of UCL matches , no big deal .

  Singtel will know eventually , they will lose $$$ on this deal ... hope the contract to broadcast is not any longer than 2 years . And eventually GIC will discover after spending hundred of millions on broadcasting rights , they still lose $$$ , why lose ? Rights go back to Starhub , and ..... people's power will prevail .

  Let's dun succumb to their demand , and let them suffer the lost ...

  Hands up if you're not subscribing to UCL ?

  i won't be subscribing, and i will be perfectly happy if this means that starhub can lower their subscription rates next year! which unfortunately i do not see coming.

  If you cannot afford fresh meat, eat frozen meat.

  If you cannot afford American bread, eat house brand bread.

  If you cannot afford champion league soccer, watch S-League cos it is free. (Italian League also free)

  So, the poodles wun block the chances for them to earn a bigger bonus cos they have shares in both company.
