yeah okok jokes aside, it is a very big thing, but i believe (maybe ideally) when the question is popped, both parties already know they wanna be together for the rest of their lives, it's just a matter of "formalising" it.
cos i mean, wat if a guy proposes to his gf thinking that she'll definitely say yes (i dun presume a guy will propose without having that confidence first) and she ends up saying no? i mean that would be a severe strain on the reln...
