  Any of u receive ur enlistment letters liao? I mean 4 those who're waitin loh. Who r in e June intake? In which unit?

  I'm not a guy but i know my class guys all mostly go in on the 9th June..
  unit: of cus Tekong lah... kekeke
  depends some goes for ptp some goes in for BMT

  Goin Tekong is under army izit? Den if guys goin into Civil Defence or Air Force den izit counted as doin NS?

  Coz i tink my bf is goin in civil defence leh... He abit unhappy liddat. So goin in SCDF means wat. He go in serve 2 1/2 yrs den can come out liao huh. Stil need 2 stay inside?

  cd's main hq is at ubi, but he may still bested to other locales. all enlisted personnel r expected to be stay in. even if u r a "9 to 5" clerk. if he gets posted to hq let me knw, i intro some guys to him.

  CD is damn shiok. wat do u mean about 2.5 years then come out? i'm sure he'll be able to book out every weekend after BMT. more senior that time at nite also can book out. as for wat "senior" means in CD i have no idea.
  
  somehow i had a feeling this has something to do with ur bf. seems like almost EVERY post of urs has reference to him. dunno to smile or frown.

  I worried 4 him mah... He wanted 2 go in Air Force one... Coz he wanna sign on. So juz ask if he can find other careers other than those related 2 SCDF or haf 2 stick 2 it...

  normal enlistment is 2 n 1/2 yrs. after tt still got reservist like everyone else. of course he can find job outside after his ord.

  SCDF like no gd leh... I'd prefer him 2 go Police or Air Force. Is there any criteria 4 bein posted 2 SCDF? Btw he heven go medical checkup leh...

  last time postings to scdf was if u had low levels of education as they do chor kang ther. these days with more concentration on civil defensce cause of the war n terrorist strikes more educated staff are required. There is also a significant increase in people posted to scdf now to boost their numbers.
  Posting to any organisation under mindef is basically based on yr luck these days. Whereever they nid manpower, u will be posted irregardless of race or religion or education.
  As long as he fufills the enrolment requirements he can sign on in the police or rsaf. but be forewarned tt if he signs on for a couple of years n decide to join the commercial world, the cert he's holding now will be obselte.

  nope.
  internal postings to do diff jobs within the oringinal post is possible if u can consult yr officer. provided he is reasonable and u have justification.
  anthr way of getting a diff posting is to get a medical downgrade thus being unfit for yr present posting.
  its jus a short stint though 2 1/2 seems long.
  pls be advised tt yr r/s will be tested during this period. espeacially during the 1st 3mths.
