Please feel free to add to the list. I'll start with mine:
1. Henderson Wave Bridge late at night to avoid the crowd.
2. Introbar at Swissotel Ground floor to watch the walking crowds
3. Axis Bar at Mandarin Oriental to look at the Bay
4. Halo on top of Wangz Hotel. The Duke/NUH Neon light some may consider garish but I find a nice break in the open vista.
5. Boathouse with the fantastic deck area, great to watch fireworks over the bay
6. New Asia Bar at the top of Swissotel (free entry with Fairmont or Swissotel Keycard) - Fridays and Saturdays they become a club with guest DJs rather than a lounge.
7. Sentosa beaches at night (park at Sentosa Resort & Spa and go to the beach closest there as it is usually deserted. Make sure to bring one of those inaudible electronic mosquito repellent in your pocket to discretely prevent being overrunned by bloodsuckers. Also don't forget a towel to sit on the sand)
These places are usually deserted most of the time, and its great to just relax in the company of the person you're with.
I'd love to hear what places you like.
I would go non of these place. Maybe is generation differences.
I'll chill out with my SO at places such as
anywhere with my SO is a good place...
to me it's the company that counts...
I guess it indeed is a generational difference since my tertiary schooling days are behind me :)
I envy you guys, life was so much simpler when it was just studying and partying. Though I didn't spend it in Singapore, I remember my uni days being so idyllic. I don't think I went to classes much beyond taking the exams. In the US, you can get straight As without attending a single lecture. ;)
Anywhere with the SO is great indeed but sometimes having a good ambience is just icing on the cake.
Oh here's a good place I missed out. One George Street, Fitness First outdoor area. You don't even have to be a member although if you are, just grab a coke or lemon tea from drinks area inside and get a couple of towels. You get a great view of the Singapore River, have a nice heated pool to dip your feet in and lounge chairs to lay back on. Best of all, its close to wherever you want to party next. I go there to relax btwn the space of time between eating dinner and going clubbing.
@ Darkness - Yeah, Marina Bay is nice to, but I can't find where to park. Esplanade is a little inconvenient because of the walk. The starbucks right next to the river is so peaceful, though I feel so guilty about hogging the sofas with the gf that I keep on buying coffees that I don't really drink.

Love your list.
A heartland place: Recently went to starbucks at Thomson Plaza. Was surprised at the convenience, quiet & slightly windy atmosphere while the cars zoom past.
