People tend to respect authority when they see someone in uniform.
Having security guard has it's use. May not prevent die hard terrorist but enough to keep out troublemakers and child kidnappers.
For terrorist measures I believe after 911 all the NPCC air/wooden rifles are now returned to the police amouries. All sensitive chemicals used in School Labs now controlled. -

Last time school has fire drill. Just wonder, may be school should include emergency evacuate drill. After all, running away is one of the ways of keeping alive.
