Your views on surfing INTERNET during official working hours

Some may think it is nothing wrong, some thinks it is a breach of employment thrust!
But to claim it as part of the Job scope when it is not is damn funni lor...keke...
Usu govt or civil servant will sign an ICT usage agreement form or the like prior to getting the computer account...wat is say har??? (guess not many bothered to read it thoroughly)
So wat is your view on it? What is your coy policy on this matter?
(there is no right nor wrong answer... your views will be respected, unless to claim tat it is one's job to surf sgforums during official working hours... maybe u got approval from your bosses...keke

tat is sinful loh....i used to do my own stuff on the internet during lunch hr or after work-hrs during an attachment at a statutory board. they nv care much one.

I don't remember any jobscope other than MSD and RIAS requiring anyone to observe the Internet.
There are jobs that do require their staff to use the Internet and most employers respect the benefit of doubt for the employees who are abusing their surfing rights.
Usually, the mutual agreement between the employers and employees are that employees are not to neglect their duties due to excessive surfing and it differs from companies to companies.
In my previous workplace, it is understood and mutually agreed that we are allowed to surf as long as we have performed our duties and can be responsive to changes.
However, the employer still has the right to insist on proper work behavior regarding surfing that was not agreed on paper. -
