cool... i use tis whenever i play zhen wang wif my rx8... coz some corners r tight n i need to do tis so i can clear it.... however... when i play akagi wif my rx8... when i reach one place where there is 3 curves... my car got wheel lock after the second curve n bang all the way durin the third curve... can anyone teach me how to prevent tis?Originally posted by HIRA:theres no drifting in the game, only powersliding...funny, because the anime was all about drifting..anyway the closest you can get to a drift is to release the accel, and when the accel is released, downshift once or twice (depending on how tight the turn is), then almost immediately shift back up...this is called machine-gun-shifting or double-declutching..
is your car fully-tuned? coz once a car gets more tuned, wheel-locks become a rare occurance...the way to get rid of wheel-locks is to let go of the gas, tap the brake, and steer, then step back the accel...Originally posted by Smi|y_DC2:cool... i use tis whenever i play zhen wang wif my rx8... coz some corners r tight n i need to do tis so i can clear it.... however... when i play akagi wif my rx8... when i reach one place where there is 3 curves... my car got wheel lock after the second curve n bang all the way durin the third curve... can anyone teach me how to prevent tis?![]()

Hehehe...controlled slide? I'm sure every ID player also control their sliding when going through every corner....unless a super newbie. From what I can read and understand in this posting, HIRA's definition of powerslide seems like can be achieved with braking first then when clearing the corner, you downshift the gear. And HIRA's definition of drift seems like downshift first then brake and release accelerator before going into a corner and accelerate while going into a corner. At least that is what it seems to me.Originally posted by jb_koala:oh.... controlled slide? ur definition of drift is this ar. that means i'm drifting everywhere lo.
and being a car and racing freak for so many years, at least i noe what is drifting.... and trust me, u can drift with to ae86 in idas. tho not every turn, but i do.
x2...hehehe...agreed.Originally posted by jb_koala:woah, clutch ar... he he, dont noe what will happen. mayb can even make the engine die in the start, where u let go ur clutch too fast. ha ha, or maybe make it rock like a horse when u just let go of the clutch full speed with full gas at the start. ha ha ha![]()

me car is 70000+ liao... but when i reach the first curve i turn in my 6th gear... second wif my 5th gear.. then "bang!!!" me car go straight into the wall... so do i need to downshift when i release the gas or tap the brake?Originally posted by HIRA:is your car fully-tuned? coz once a car gets more tuned, wheel-locks become a rare occurance...the way to get rid of wheel-locks is to let go of the gas, tap the brake, and steer, then step back the accel...
hmmm i dont really play shomaru...but i would think you need to downshift since you banged into the wall...Originally posted by Smi|y_DC2:me car is 70000+ liao... but when i reach the first curve i turn in my 6th gear... second wif my 5th gear.. then "bang!!!" me car go straight into the wall... so do i need to downshift when i release the gas or tap the brake?
i tried it usin 86 levin playin myogi in PS2... when i doin the curve my 86 goes perpendicular to the guardrail... not sure whether is it driftin... driftin to me is pullin the handbrake to clear a curve... like wat most pp did in 'need for speed underground' when they play drift tracks...Originally posted by Impreza WRX:Maybe it's a bit difficult to visualize the movement of the vehicle in powersliding and drifting since they look quite the same. In the game before the race starts, sometimes there is a picture of Takumi drifting the car. Look at it closely, the car is almost perpendicular to the road.
When you normally turn a car left, the left wheels (front and back) travel a shorter distance than compared to the right wheels. Powersliding is a sliding version of this. This is how all of the turns in ID is taken.
Drifting is when you get the car almost perpendicular to the road and actually smoothly follow the curvature of the turn. In this case, the rear wheels (left and right) will actually travel a greater distance than the front wheels (left and right). This is because the front wheels are on the inside of the turn and the rear wheels are on the outside of the turn. The closest to an actual drift I can think of is to use a RWD car and drive on Myogi. If you do a drift correctly, your view should be actually looking over the mountain side and not really be in line with the road. Also computer drivers on Iro perform minor drifts for the turns.
So yeah, there is no drifting in ID (except for Myogi and com drivers).

i hav no problems playin others maps... but i will get wheel lock in akagi...[/b]
Hey HIRA, my friend have confirm with me that ID does not drift. So to honour your words, you are correct on that.Originally posted by jb_koala:erm... can we stop this quarrel?![]()
Er, do you see a handbrake for the ID machines?Originally posted by Smi|y_DC2:i tried it usin 86 levin playin myogi in PS2... when i doin the curve my 86 goes perpendicular to the guardrail... not sure whether is it driftin... driftin to me is pullin the handbrake to clear a curve... like wat most pp did in 'need for speed underground' when they play drift tracks...
ya... sometimes after the right turn then wheel lock.Originally posted by HIRA:oops..sori sori...you're talking about akagi? do you wheel-lock after coming out of the slight right following the sharp first turn?
hehe erm i think i know the problem...you're probably turning too much for that right-turn....so when you come out of that slight right, your car is facing the right, making you wheel-lock for that sharp left....try to get into 'gutter' on the right coming into that slight right turn..Originally posted by Smi|y_DC2:ya... sometimes after the right turn then wheel lock... sometimes after the second turn then wheel lock
... now keep playin akagi to train how to prevent wheel lock
so can u help me?
