  Wat is the purpose of having lots of points?
  
  I noticed after a car finished stage 5 of a tune, for every 15k, it sort of upgrade or watsoeva..
  
  But wat is it for ?

  It's sort of like little modifications that will help with your car's overall performance. Last tune-up is at 990k, so yeah you need to play a lot to reach the limit. I guess after the tune-ups are done, the main use of points is for the 4 course roundaround.
