Me kena posted to RP wor.
Anyway, some questions I would like to ask.
What are the school hours like for year1? School environment very stressful or..?
Thanks.
im not very sure about the school hour for year 1 as the system has changed.
hmm the school environment are relaxing during yr 1 however subsequently can be stressful especially in the third yr.. due to FYP..
Well, my suggestion is even if its relaxing in year 1. do try to score well as yr 1 is the easiest time for u to score.
cheers and enjoy your time in RP (:
8.30 ~ 4.30pm around that time. Some times can release as early as 4.
You've learn science(chem, bio, phy) and some computing skills(maths). Then you'll also learn communication and appreciating cultures. Cognitive skills will also be taught to promote your reasonings skills.
Year 1, easy life. Make more friends ;)
why easy life as you guys say so?
830 - 430 are pretty long school hours leh.
8.30 to 3.30 lah. half of this time is free time for you to work on your own and to do whatever you want. very slack one... enough time for you to go to Causeway point for lunch and back.
When the updated student handbook for your cohort is out, read it carefully.
RP emphasizes the following points:
1. Self-discipline. You can learn as much as you want, or you can just learn the minimum to get by. If you want to score, you have to go all out to learn everyday!
2. Independent learning. Don't expect info to be fed to you. You have to get it yourself by asking the right questions.
3. Understanding. Getting info is not the end of the story but how you make sense of it. eg. You find out that SBS Transit is not going to raise fares. Is this good or bad? From whose point of view?
4. Teamwork & Communication. Everyday you work in a team and you present your findings at the end of the day. As some people might say, "talk talk and talk".

Thanks alot.
Why is there alot of free time? Dont the teachers teach or something.
full day school, slack, no exam, open book test.

There are no lectures in RP! You can think of each day in RP as a mini-project. In the morning you are given a problem to solve, and then you work with your team to solve it. The facilitators (not teachers or lecturers) are there to guide you on the right track, and sometimes they do explain if everyone is lost.
The free time is for you to work on your own.
i want also don have arh -.-
Be prepared to experience the slowest internet connection in your life (during schooling hours) :-X
Thanks for the replies.
Then what happens if go late for class?
ok.. you are awarded a daily grade based on your performance in class, A,B,C,D or F. A = 4 pts, B = 3 and so on. if you are late at the start of the day, 0.5 pts is deducted from your daily grade.

Thats alot of marks being deducted for being late.
Then if really late, might as well buy mc pon school for the day right?
If you are a few mins late, might as well come and learn something for the day. You could still get an A and score 3.5 pts (instead of 4). Some marks is better than nothing.
You still have to sit for 3 tests on top of your daily lessons. They are worth 50% (or even 60%) of your total grade. Therefore, the 0.5 pts deduction is really very small compared to losing marks in a test.
You will score ZERO if you pon, even with MC. Not recommended, because of snowball effect... if you miss this week's lesson, you could be affected for the next week's lesson, and even for the test.
Oh.... I see, thanks.
Then cause they need me to buy a lappy, but I alr have one, since like a year ago.
So that means I dont need to get a new one right? But since my battery life practically sucks, lasting about 45 mins only, how? Does it actually matter?
Thanks.
nah it does nt matter, my battary does nt even last more den 10 min =S
tho i changed it. since its free for my case (:
