Otherwise... just read the first page... it is basically an overview of the whole issue...
$300 to $400, without including water, gas and electronic bills, actually is enough for basic survival, the rice, the milk, clothes, etc. But whether it's really enough to cover all the basic stuffs we need, is another issue.
I think she has her points except that she didn't articulate well enough. And i think her points are logical to some extend.
However, I was thinking of asking hard questions to her about her points. Like if you were talking about GST helping the poor, how much GST actually goes back to the poor? I think she will be unable to answer this and yet as a MP, she should know this statistic. And, moreover, if the portion going to the poor is very low (which I think it is), then can the government justify this GST increase by saying that it is to help the poor?
Lastly, if you don't want to be brainwashed, learning to ask hard questions helps a lot. It teaches you to to differentiate what is a fact and what is an assumption and how logical is the overall argument. Coming to speakers corner, in my opinion, serves only to be brainwash towards the opposition.
