but think first b4 u type..
There definitely this sort of poly ranking...
SP is 1st just bcoz its the first poly in S'pore..there are more courses too...
RP is 2nd last bcoz its just established in recent years..less courses...
and RP is using a PBL system which is new and not really fully tested...
I give u a scenario:
This guy(A) who graduated from SP with let say a diploma in electronics..got a GPA of 2.5
Another guy(B) from RP, same, his course also Dip in Electronics...got a GPA of 3.5...
Do you think a company will employ which person, A or B?
Furthermore, if u were planning to go uni, they wouldn't want a person with a lower GPA...they take those with higher GPA... that's pretty obvious...
And to [b]Darkness_hacker99:
The value of the diploma depends on ur GPA score..and the modules u take...some jobs require u to be good in a certain module...
where got from top or bottom poly..?? you are so f.nonsense...
I'm trying to be neutral in this issue..
just think first...dude....the main point of this thread is whether RP poly is a good school to study in..
the factors he/she might have considered is the learning environment, facilities, the students, the facilitators(lecturers)...
the thread started just nvr mention which one of it...
not abt the diploma...

If I am the employer, I'll still hire the one with SP Diploma with GPA 2.5.
I guess ismail is not an RP student so you didn't know how RP give gradings.
Actually I agree with you that it all boils down to wheather TS able to accept the Problem-Based Learning methodology.
If you want ranking, my ranking of the polytechnics will be SP,NP,TP,NYP and followed by RP at the last. This is just my person point of view.
You are right to say that SP is the first Polytechnic in Singapore and so it have more courses offered to students. On the other hand RP is a new institution and have less courses to chose from.
Yes, I agree with you that PBL is still 'new' in Institutions of Higher Learning in Singapore, but it not new in other places. RP re-design the PBL so that it meet the no-homework policy because RP believe that homework doesn't help much. It want student to be able to have more free time to interact with people be it family members.
Regarding about the University entry, each University have their system to compute the agregates for diplomas holders.
Value of the diploma is not purely based on the GPA score! And yes, modules does affect what kind of job you can take in future. I have to agree with this. But there is a difference between a Top Polytechnic and a bottom Polytechnic.
Let me give you two scenario. Let say you are a PSLE student with 250 aggregate. Will you chose,
1) The Secondary school rank at the bottom of the list
OR
2) The top prestige Secondary School
So what I want to point out to you that, there is a difference! From your post, I believe that you think that the quality of a module is the same no matter in which Institution. Frankly speaking, I don't think so.
I would like to point out something to you. Facilitators are not Lecturers! Facilitators are there to facilitates your learning, not giving you lectures.
