What's the timetable like ar? My friend say got 5 hours break...
School starts at?
Year 1 = 5-day week. A total of 2 breaks, one around 9.30, the other around 12pm to 12.30pm
School starts at 8.30am, and presentation starts at 2pm. In the middle, you do a lot of reading and prepare for presentation.
5 hours of break is for slackers, like me.
Year 2 - 4/5-day week, depending on whether you take elective or whether you fail any Year 1 modules. Those on 4-day week, it's recommended that you spend the time chalking up CE points (Creative Engagement) and doing your PP (Professional Profiling)
Year 3 - 3-5-day week. If you fail any modules and your GPA is not at least 2.0, you will have to retake the module. Most of the time is spent on doing FYP (Final Year Project). 2 FYP for the majority, unless yours is a major one, which requires 2 semesters to complete, then you only do one FYP.
CE is divided into 4 components - Diploma Active/Passive, Non-diploma Active/Passive.
30 Active points is needed. Active points is gained when the activity is hands-on, or requires you to write report of some sort.
Passive points are gained when you go for talks or seminars.
The Open-sourced IG frequently organizes talks and seminars, which allows you to gain a lot of active points. I finished my CE module in one year because of active participation in Open-sourced IG.
Don't just chiong for talks and seminars. Make sure you know what points are given out. If you fail one component, you won't pass CE.
Professional Profiling is our substitution for industrial attachment. I haven't do this yet.
